The Greatest Feeling in the World</i>
I have a memory,
One full of feeling,
Of joy and elation;
It is a simple thing,
Intimate and tender;
It fills my heart,
With thoughts of her,
With laughter and happiness,
With tenderness and love;
It is a small thing,
But of such deep meaning,
Of such deep feeling:
The love, joy, and freedom I felt,
When I held her hand,
When I kissed her lips,
When I ran into her arms,
Once again.
The greatest feeling in the world,
Is holding her tightly in my arms,
And knowing we share something special.
There is nothing wrong with this,
I loved her,
And thoughts of her to this day,
Warm my heart.
When a man and a woman share this connection,
When they love and hold each other tenderly,
When thoughts of their kisses quicken their hearts,
Smiles and praise are sent their way;
But two women?
How could this be?
How could their love possibly equate
To the love a man and a woman can share?
I can answer this,
Simply look into my heart,
You’ll see the answer there.

Mon Amour
I don't want you to know I'm broken
I don't want you to know I'm hurt
I just want to crawl inside your hug
And mend there.
I want to feel your arms around me forever
And your sweet and tender lips on my cheek
I want you to tell me it's all going to be ok
And I want you to tell me you love me
And I want you to mean it THAT way
When I sit next to you at lunch
You gently rest your leg against mine
And oh, how I crave that gentle touch
And the sweet smell of your vanilla skin
When we walk together, side by side
I carefully escort you down the hallway
Because you're small and mighty
But those big kids who shove us around don't k

I am in deep,
Lost in this confusion.
So badly that it is finally affecting me in my sleep,
Something like this has happened before,
Like any human.
It started with a simple Hello
Now anything you say turns me to jello.
Thoughts cloud my mind,
of what we could be.
You make me happy without knowing,
The butterflies in my tummy that are floating.

Kisses
It was cold.
Freezing, actually.
November is not a nice month in this shit town. Then again, November has really been a nice month anywhere.
However, I was preoccupied.
The cold was not bothering me. At least, not too much.
Oh, I was far from cold. My racing heartbeat was making sure of that. And so was the dark blush that I just knew was staining my cheeks.
Thankfully, she was blushing too. But her smile was happy. Nervous, but happy.
She was one of the most beautiful things I'd ever seen. (Still is, actually.)
A nervous giggle escaped her lips and I pulled her closer, burying my face in her neck. Amazingly, her heart was racing fast

This poem is written in two styles to show the disparity between the simply love shared by a couple and the reality of how the world views the couples of homosexuals and heterosexuals. The first part is written in a simplistic style about the memory I have of being with my first girlfriend and how I felt when I was with her. The second part is written in a more complex style that reflects the reality of the world where the love of a man and a woman is condoned, while that same love experienced by two people of the same sex is looked down upon and discriminated against. What it all comes down to is the feelings couples feel for each other, which is simply love. It is only love, and to see the truth of this one must simply look into the hearts of homosexuals to see that there is love felt in their relationships, and that is the most natural, common, and greatest thing in the world.

The poem is beautiful- it really made me think. It ends really well, also.
