Were, Now, and Will

We weren’t allowed to touch,
But we touched in secret,
Under the table,
Little bumps in passing,
Always when they weren’t looking.

We were monitored in speech,
But we communicated silently,
Mouthing words,
Hidden touches,
Deep stares,
And surreptitious little smiles.

Now we are apart,
With no chance of touching,
No supportive touching,
No deep stares,
No furtive little smiles.

Now you are far from me,
But still we speak,
Through touching letters,
And beautiful poems,
Over miles and miles of separation.

We will be reunited,
As soon as situations change,
You will be back with me,
With no more hidden touching,
With no more monitored speech,
Finally together, we will be.

We will be together,
Touching, caressing openly,
Holding hands,
Side by side,
Hugging close,
Absorbing the love and warmth,
Kissing gently,
Exploring each other and ourselves.

We will talk unmonitored,
We will talk of anything and everything,
With no worries of trouble to come,
From speaking of the wrong things,
No one will keep us apart,
Verbally or physically.

I like the theme of being "monitored" verbally and physiclly.
It's something a little different than a typical love.
Its also really well done because you stuck with this theme the whole poem
The way you repeated it with different words made it a well written poem
